Decent portions (huge), prices were right $16. Service was friendly and not obtrusive. The wait was about 25 minutes on a weekend.

Thank you fellow Yelpers for steering me to Cottage Cafe. I came on a busy Saturday afternoon for take out country fried steak. The line was at least half an hour to dine in, which tells you just how much people love this diner. The breaded surface was a little more burnt than I prefer, but the meat quality was comparable to any Southern Cracker Barrel. The country gravy was so good, I saved half for the next day's breakfast. Parking is surprisingly decent in the private lot despite the crowds, and the service was friendly and full of smiles.

We visited here twice on 4/27/24 and 5/18/24. I ordered the Hearty Breakfast Combo: Three eggs, 2 thick cut bacon strips, two sausage links, hash browns, sourdough toast and Belgium waffle $16.95. This is a really humongous breakfast portion. Great for two people. I enjoyed this breakfast so much. Super delicious!! The waffles are light and airy. Just how I like it. The strawberry homemade jam is yummy too. My daughter ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs: hash browns and sourdough toast $16.95. She loved her breakfast too! The service is excellent and quick. Expect long wait lines. The breakfast prices are affordable and worth the wait. Restaurant quote: "Homemade breakfast the way Grandma used to". Love how they make a lot of homemade breakfasts dishes, jam and sauces. They open daily from 7am-2pm. No reservations. Closed only on Christmas and Thanksgiving .

We love this place! It's so cute and always busy, but that's because the food is always on point. We arrived around 830a and there was already a line of 6 people infront of us. We werent in hurry so we didnt mind waiting. We were seated around 9am and had a nice waitress quickly come over and get our drink orders. When she came back with our drinks we ordered. My husband ordered the Hearty Breakfast combo. It was an impressive spread with three eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, cottage fries and a Belgian waffle. It was his birthday so he indulged, and we don't normally go out to breakfast. He said eveything tasted great but his favorite was the Belgian waffle. It was fluffy and buttery and really filled his craving. I ordered the Vegetarian Eggs Benedict, but I added ham and substituted the hollandaise sauce for salsa. It's just a lot lighter and they have great salsa. This is SO good! It came on an English muffin with spinach, tomatoes, avocados, ham and a poached egg. I opted for hashbrowns and eveything was perfect. Throughout the meal our waitress checked on us and made sure our drinks were filled, and when we finished our plates, removed them promptly. As soon as we were done we tried to pay and clear out quickly as there was a line waiting to get in. This isn't the type of place you hang out at the table. They are too busy and don't have space so it's better to eat and go so they can turn the table for the next guests. We look forward to going back again!

Very cool little breakfast place in Spokane. The staff was super friendly and the portions were very generous. The chicken fried steak and the biscuit gravy were wonderful and the bacon was cooked perfectly.

We almost went to Frank's, but decided to try something new. The food was outrageously good, despite not getting exactly what we ordered. I asked for the BTA scramble and received the omelette; it was perfect. My boyfriend asked for crispy hashbrowns and received "regular" ones; they were still scrumptious. Unfortunately, the hashbrowns are cooked in Whirl, which tastes great but is oh so toxic. I took a bite of my boyfriend's chicken fried steak--wow!!! The cafe is small, and so we showed up early, but we still waited a bit for a table. I wouldn't be surprised if people line up before opening. Despite a few kinks in the chain, this was a stellar experience.

We were looking for a good breakfast spot and were recommended to go to Cottage Cafe. We went around 9am on a Sunday morning. Every seat was full and waiting to be taken over by someone else. They do not take reservations but you add your name and party size to list with someone at the front. They told us it would be about a 40 minute wait (ended up being about 35). The tricky thing is we had a part of nine. With a packed dining room, it was hard to accommodate us. They did a really great job of getting us two booths close to each though. We had the teens at one table and the adults right behind them. Our server was very attentive and kind to us. Even though it was one large party, she did a good job paying equal attention between the two tables. My husband and I split the Hearty Breakfast combo ($17.95 + $1.75 split fee). Even in a split portion there was so much food!! We got half a waffle, an egg, a bacon, a sausage, hash browns and toast each. My brother got the Smaller Appetite breakfast and it was still sizable. Even the kids meals had a generous portions. All the food was really very delicious. The handmade whipped cream on the waffles and the real fresh strawberries were a welcomed surprise, the bacon was nice, long strips and the sausage was a link so it was had some girth to it. To go boxes were required, because we were so stuffed. It was a major step up from the places we normally go. Granted the seating is easier at those other places, but the taste, quality and portions are generally lacking. Can't wait to come again and try some other options.

First time going was 1/15/24 and I'm sad I've been missing out on such a bomb brunch spot! The Cottage Cafe is located in the Spokane Valley just off the freeway. The staff was so nice! They seated us pretty quick. I loved the music they were playing, a lot of oldies! I ordered the biscuit and gravy special and my friend ordered the chicken melt sandwich, both were absolute perfect. Honestly the best sausage gravy in town by a landslide! We were dipping their homemade potatoe chips in it to til my plate was clean. They also had homemade strawberry jam in a bottle that made it so easy to smother the chicken melt in (think a monte-cristo). Fair to say I'll be back as soon as I get an excuse to invite friends out to brunch! You won't regret checking out CC!
